In the efforts of reducing the influx of foreign workers, the Singaporean government had announced hikes in the monthly levies for employers with workers on S Passes and Work Permits. However, the government has since determined that these increased levies will be delayed for a while longer. The increased in the monthly levies for Work Permits and S Passes will be delayed until 2016 for all sectors and until 2017 for Work Permit holders in the manufacturing sector. Until these increases are implemented, employers will continue to pay the current levy rates.
