Beginning April 18th, 2015, employers who are sponsoring workers in the Subclass 457 visa category will be given an extended 28 calendar days to report certain status changes to the Australian Government. These changes include the end of the visa worker’s employment, changes to his/her work duties, payment of a visa holder’s return travel costs, and may also include changes in the company’s corporate structure. This is a significant extension as currently these employers are only given 10 days. This change will grant employers much more leeway with their notifications.
