A new service center, located in GGDA’s Gauteng Investment Centre in Sandton, is expected to streamline visa and permit application and renewal processing times to an average of just four weeks. In order to take advantage of this service, employers must be registered for Corporate Account status with the Corporate Accounts Unit of the Department of Home Affairs (DHA). Along with the streamlined process, the center will also offer immigration advice to applicants and dependents.

There are several requirements in order to become eligible for this service. The DHA implemented several factors which will determine eligibility: these include proving that at least 60% of the entire staff is either South African or permanent residents, the employers are putting effort into transferring skills to local residents, and the number of requested visas in key positions. If all of these requirements are met, employers should be able to benefit from the streamlined processing service that the center provides.
