Ukrainian nationals in Russia are now only eligible to remain in the country for up to 90 days in a given 180-day period without having a work or residency permit. Prior to this policy change, Ukrainian nationals working in Russia were allowed to extend their stay open-endedly once their original 90-day stay period expired. This new ruling is taking effect immediately.
Ukrainian nationals who remain in Russia after the acceptable 90-day period, without obtaining a work or residency permit, are subject to deportation and a fine of up to 7,000 RUB. When traveling to Russia, Ukrainian nationals must state the nature of their visit and confirm that their migration card, which is issued upon entering, also indicates the purpose of their visit.
