Beginning January 1, 2017, the minimum wage in the Netherlands will increase. The government adjusts the minimum wage twice a year, on January 1 and July 1 to remain in line with the average collectively agreed wages in the Netherlands.
The highly skilled knowledge migrants have a new salary threshold beginning January 1:
- Applicants over 30
- Increased to 4,324 Euro, up from 4,240 Euro
- Applicants under 30
- Increased to 3,170 Euro, up from 3,108 Euro
- Applicants following an orientation year for highly educated persons having graduated, having completed a doctoral programme, or scientific research
- Increased to 2,272 Euro, up from 2,228 Euro
The EU Blue Card salary has increased to 5,066 Euro, up from the previous 4,968 Euro.
Government fees will also increase by 1.8%, effective January 1, 2017:
- Application for Knowledge Migrant – 926 Euro
- Application for Blue Card/EU ICT Permit – 897 Euro
- Registration as an accredited sponsor – 5,276 Euro
- Registration as an accredited sponsor for small companies – 2,638 Euro
