The annual salary for the Blue Card EU will increase to EUR 53,600 (up from EUR 52,000) beginning January 1, 2019. In certain shortage occupations the salary threshold is reduced to EUR 41,808 per year (up from EUR 40,560).

- Hold a university degree comparable to German standards
- Receive an annual salary of EUR 53,600 (2019)
