Canada’s Parents and Grandparents program is planned to reopen in late January.

A foreign national, who is at least 18 years of age, can sponsor their parents or grandparents to become a permanent resident if they meet one of the following conditions:

  • Canadian citizen; or
  • Person registered as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act; or
  • Permanent resident of Canada.

Sponsors must be able to support their parents or grandparents financially and they must not need social assistance from the Canadian government.

To find if you are eligible to sponsor, you may complete the tool here.
