Effective June 28, 2019, spouses and children of South African citizens and Permanent Residence holders may change their status from Visitor to any other category from within the country.
Regulation 9(9)(a) that had prevented spouses and children from changing status from within the country has been declared inconsistent with the Constitution and therefore remains invalid for 24 months from the date of the order.
