A new legislation was passed on June 16, 2019 in which would eliminate thousands of unprocessed skilled worker applications in Quebec’s Skilled Worker Program. Foreign nationals with pending qualified skilled worker applications submitted before August 2, 2018 are encouraged to submit a new application on Quebec’s new immigration portal, Arrima. Foreign nationals applying for a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ) should also strengthen their French verbal language skills in order to qualify for a CSQ.
Applicants applying under the new program must await an invitation to apply for a CSQ. A score will be awarded based on age, education, work experience, and language skills. The new system is intended to adapt to the needs of the province and may change frequently.
