Effective October 28, 2019, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has approved new regulations and a new form for address registration.
The form now includes a field confirming the right to use the premises.
In case of refusal of the address registration documents, an official of the MIA or an employee of the post office/multi functional center must now issue an official refusal notice listing the specific grounds for refusal.
The grounds for refusal now include:
- Violation of the requirements of the address registration form and its contents;
- Unreadable or corrected text;
- Missing mandatory documents;
- Expiry of the foreign national’s identity document.
Employers who may be affected are encouraged to contact an immigration specialist for case-specific advice.
